Cape York Visitor Research

An awesome project working with TRC Tourism and Cape York Partnership to help deliver the benefits of tourism to the communities of Cape York. episteme designed and delivered a full visitor research solution for the project that included online and in-situ surveys to better understand what experiences people travelling to the Cape are expecting, what experiences they are actually having, and what they might be motivated to do in the future.

The results revealed some interesting characteristics of visitors to the region and gave us a much deeper understanding of what might work for communities to deliver in the future, and what might not. In the course of the research, we got to meet some fascinating people on journeys of discovery, exploration, healing, celebrating and grieving. What we learnt above anything is that travelling to the Cape is a unique and exciting experience that is not for the faint hearted, but absolutely worth it!
